Chris Willcox

CHRISWILLCOX_edited.jpg

Chris Willcox is an abstract painter who recently relocated to Santa Fe, NM from Brooklyn, NY. His work explores color, light, movement, depth of field within very flat, synthetic surfaces.

These two pieces were created using the same drawing and painting techniques and materials used in his studio. Drawing on acetate with paint and wax using trowels and large brushes, working to create varieties of textures and softness. The color palette exaggerates the synthetic qualities creating wildly active and stimulating images.
